Anoka Ramsey came into the day needing to 'run the gauntlet' to take the championship and fell one game short, needing to beat undefeated Ridgewater twice to win the championship. Anoka-Ramsey rallied to defeat Ridgewater 5-4 in the first game, their third game of the day, but gave up 12 first inning runs in the second game against Ridgewater and ultimately lost 18-6.
Ridgewater beat Northland CC, Minnesota West, and Itasca CC to earn the top spot in the championship round.
Anoka-Ramsey lost their first game Friday, to Itasca CC, then beat Hibbing and Minnesota West to advance to Saturday. On Saturday Anoka-Ramsey beat Rochester and Itasca, before the two games with Ridgewater. Rochester, Itasca, Anoka-Ramsey and Ridgewater all advanced to the NJCAA Division 3 Regional tournament as well.
