Finally, A Blog Update

With the busy fall season happening, I haven’t gotten around to posting a blog update of games shot, but here comes one!

This past week I cleaned up the front page of viewthroughmylens.net be creating a separate high schools page with links to the Cloquet, Barnum, Carlton, Esko, and Duluth Northern Stars pages rather than having 5 separate links on the front page of the website.  Now you click the high schools link and choose which school you want to look for pictures of.

I shot a bunch of CEC Lumberjacks boys soccer early in their season and a couple Cloquet girls soccer, including their rivalry matchup 2-1 loss at Esko/Carlton.

Cloquet Girls Beat Superior 5-0

The Lumberjack girls hockey team dominated the Superior Spartans, winning 5-0 and outshooting the Spartans 39-6 for the game. Kalie Shevich scored twice, while Emily Gustafson, Jessie Ryan, and Carley Esse each scored once for the 'Jacks. Gustafson picked up two assists, while Esse and Kristi Konietzko each added an assist. Alyssa Acheson and Katie Beckman split the game for the Jacks in net, with Acheson picking up the win stopping 5 shots in her 25 minutes and Beckman seeing 1 shot.

Cloquet Girls Soccer Loses to Esko/Carlton

The Lumberjacks and Eskomos once again renewed their soccer rivalry at Bromberg Field in Cloquet, August 31, 2010. Esko/Carlton jumped on the Jacks early, with goals by Alyssa Rodlund and Caitlin Lilly, notching a two goal lead in the first 13 minutes of play. A header by Cloquet's Carley Esse beat Eskomo goaltender to cut the lead to 2-1, which was the score at halftime. The Lumberjacks tied the game at two on a Kristi Konietzko goal early in the second half. The game was tied until the 28th minute of the game, when Lilly was awarded, and buried, a penalty kick in front of Lumberjack goaltender Kaitrin Rathe for the 3-2 final score.
