The 2010 Section 7AA semifinals saw Esko end Hibbing's 7 year reign as section champion 3 games to 0 and Hermantown avenge 2 losses in a row to the Lumberjacks 3 games to 0 in a doubleheader at Romano Gym on the campus of Minnesota-Duluth.

Lumberjacks Volleyball Wins Lake Superior Conference

The Lumberjacks secured the Lake Superior Conference championship with a 3 games to 1 victory over the Hermantown Hawks, October 19, 2010. Next up for the Lumberjacks is the section playoffs.

Cloquet Volleyball Sweeps Superior

The Lumberjacks handed Superior a 3 games to 0 sweep in Superior, September 16, 2010. They controlled the first game from the start, going up 9-2. Superior cut the first game to 16-11, then Cloquet ran away with a 9-2 run to finish the first game 25-13. The second game started the opposite, with the Jacks going down 10-2, then 17-7 in that game. A Cloquet timeout (at the 17-7 score) to regroup paid off, with a huge 18-5 run to take the second game 25-22. The Jacks closed out the 3 game sweep with a 25-16 win in the final game.
