Porcupine Up In A Tree In the Woods

I shot (photographed.. duh) this guy in the woods today.. I thought I saw a new nest up in a tree and it turned out to be this porcupine.

Out For A Walk

With nothing else to do and the temperature on the digital thermometer 77 degrees I had to take a walk with the camera :)

I'm not a bird expert but I'm pretty sure I got these cedar waxwings right ;)

Cedar Waxwing





This woodpecker has be wondering if it's a red breasted, or a downy or hairy.. but whichever it is it landed 3 feet from where I was standing so it wanted it's picture taken. EDIT::: 11 pm.. I've now learned that this is a female Yellow Bellied Sapsucker.. still a woodpecker, but this bird goes after the sap rather than bugs inside the bark.

Outdoor Pictures

When the weather warms up again.. I'll be taking walks with the camera every decent weather day...

I did get a few hour long walks the middle of this month of March when the weather was getting near 55-60 degrees but THIS past week it's been cold as November!

AND one picture from a snowstorm that ammounted to 3 inches of snow in a few hours.. with flakes the size of quarters...
