CEC Soccer Beats Hibbing 2-0

The CEC Lumberjacks soccer team beat the Hibbing Bluejackets 2-0 at Hilltop Park in Cloquet, September 22, 2009. Tyler Goabel scored the first CEC goal and Josiah Barrett scored the second goal on a penalty kick placed just under the crossbar for the 2-0 win.

Cloquet Football Beats Virignia, Improves to 3-0

RaRa Jones broke open a tight 7-6 first half score by returning the second half kickoff for a touchdown, helping Cloquet run to a 30-6 lead when the second team offense/defense took over for the Lumberjacks.

Courtney Esse had a hat-trick, and Jessie Ryan scored twice in Cloquet's 6-0 victory over Duluth Central on Bromberg Field in Cloquet. I stopped shooting after the game was 4-0, to get lunch before the Thunder football game...

The Thunder used a balanced running and throwing game and good defense to shut out the Minnesota West Community College Bluejays 25-0 at Bromberg Field in Cloquet, September 12, 2009.

Jessie Ryan scored twice, and Katie Pappas scored once for the Cloquet girls soccer team, in a 3-3 overtime tie vs the Hermantown Hawks at Hilltop park in Cloquet, September 10, 2009. Chelsea Cossin, Mikayla Sich, and Julia Gilbert scored Hermantown's goals.

Thunder Volleyball Loses to Vermillion CC

The Thunder had a rematch of their 3-0 victory in their first match of the year, against Vermillion CC on September 9th in the Lester Jack Briggs Cultural Center Gymnasium.. losing this rematch with Vermillion 3 games to 1, before a loud crowd.

The Cloquet(CEC) boys soccer team defeated Duluth Denfeld 2-1 on September 4th, 2009 at Hilltop Park in Cloquet. Sam Cook and Dan Toivonen scored the Lumberjack goals, while Kyle Langlee scored for Denfeld.

Lumberjacks Girls Soccer Beats Esko-Carlton, Volleyball Loses to Duluth East

On Tuesday, September 1st, the Lumberjack girls soccer team beat Esko-Carlton 4-2, with Jessie Ryan scoring twice, Lena Swander scoring the eventual game winner, and Haley Bassett icing the game with the team's 4th goal. Amanda Bergstedt scored both goals for Esko-Carlton.

Landen Straub scored two goals in about 1 minute in the second half, to seal a Cloquet-Esko-Carlton soccer match against Superior, 3-0 in Cloquet on August 31, 2009.

Cloquet Lumberjack Volleyball, Boys Soccer Seasons Open

The Lumberjack volleyball team dropped a match to Grand Rapids 3 games to 0, while the Cloquet-Esko-Carlton boys soccer team tied with Proctor 1-1, in a game with lots of periods of light rain.

In the coming weeks look forward to Fond Du Lac Tribal & Community College Thunder volleyball and football pictures for the 09 season. The Thunder football team barely missed the postseason last year, and their season starts Friday August 28th against Central Lakes, in St. Cloud, Minnesota. The volleyball team is debuting this Saturday, August 29th at home against Vermillion Community College!
